RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the safe and reliable operation and maintenance of the generation assets, in accordance with agreed operating plans and budgets.
  • Assist the complete implementation of the HSE Management System, and contribute to the growth and improvement thereof.
  • Conduct and/or direct the operations and maintenance activities for the balance of plant equipment (turbine switchgear, collection system, substations, transmission line, switchyard, site roads, access ways FAA lighting, Met towers, emergency generators, O&M building and surrounds).
  • Responsible to record Safety Events through Encompass.
  • Support communications with Offtaker and  Power Ops 24/7 monitoring.
  • Assist with oversight and support for the Service and Maintenance team serving Chapman Ranch Wind.
  • Assist and support the scheduling, monitoring and directing of contractors
  • Assist or conduct safety walks, safety audits and site safety orientations as directed or required.
  • Assist and support quality control inspections on turbine and other equipment as directed
  • Monitor  and  track Chapman Ranch Wind inventory of parts and equipment
  • Assist administration of all Chapman Ranch Wind project agreements (Landowner Leases, PPA, SMA, LGIA).
  • Support execution of Chapman Ranch Wind’s NERC Compliance Program.
  • Assist with meeting Chapman Ranch Wind’s environmental compliance commitments (county, state, federal).
  • Support compilation of operations reports as necessary and maintain the project’s operations log.
  • Support the 811 “Call Before You Dig” process (identify Chapman Ranch Wind underground facilities) as directed
  • Being on call outside of regular hours (on 24/7 basis) to support the Plant Manager in response to urgent operational issues when necessary (plant trips, curtailment instructions, etc.).
  • Support preparation of the site’s annual budget.
  • Assist and support the operations and maintenance of the site I.T., SCADA and other communications and data collection systems and equipment.
  • Monitor and schedule inspections and certifications of Chapman Ranch Wind equipment as required by code, regulations or policy.
  • Assist Site Manager in liaising with landowners, local community, local authorities and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare technical reports on special projects and assignments, as directed by Site Manager.
  • Support all Oracle financial processes as necessary.
  • Support or manage specific projects and programs as they relate to GPT operating and maintenance issues.
  • Other responsibilities as required

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of related experience OR six plus years of previous field operations OR equivalent mix of formal educations and experience is required
  • Industrial process plant experience, with minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Prior wind generation plant operations and/or maintenance experience, a strong plus.
  • Prior experience working with high voltage electrical systems, a strong plus.
  • Technical trade education or certification preferred
  • Education or certification in an electrical field, a strong plus
  • Unwavering commitment to providing a safe, incident-free work environment.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills as well as proven verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledgeable in the use of a computer and the Microsoft Office suite of software programs.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Self-starter with a strong commitment to excellence.
  • Ability to work independently, using sound judgment and attention to detail.
  • Results oriented team-player willing to pitch-in and support business activities as necessary.
  • Valid driver’s license.
