PRIMARY FOCUS

The Coordinator is accountable for the implementation and management of the Consent Decree elements as it pertains to Emergency Management. Administration of supporting documents and ensuring planning deliverables are met.

 

This position is also responsible for ER input and integration with existing programs supporting overall ER performance across the system as the decree is implemented. Development of reports and metrics to show adherence and performance to commitments, support to operating regions.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and lead the development/implementation of various Emergency Response elements contained within the agreement, assessment of requirements, tools and components such as control points, tactical plan information, maps, equipment lists, Exercise & Training documentation
  • Ensure the overall coordination and adherence to the decree elements
  • Support internal and external stakeholders by providing Emergency Response Plan information and integrating new emergency response plan information into the plans and emergency response documentation system as required with the plans team
  • Sensitive interface with Regulatory bodies and external stakeholders regarding deliverables.
  • Align and support decree elements with emergency response plan regulatory requirements and the departments ER Planning team.
  • Identify and support program leading practices as they apply across the system
  • Monitor decree costs and reports
  • Develop dashboard metrics to report on progress towards meeting the decree elements
  • Provide input to operating and capital budgets items as required.
  • Stewardship to the IMS 07, Integrated Management System
  • Management of Information Requests as related to the role
  • Provide support to the respective Project, Plans and Management System staff.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of post-secondary education related to project management
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and communicate with external agencies, stakeholders and regulatory contacts
  • 8+ years of project management experience
  • Demonstrated experience with management involving many external stakeholders
  • Emergency management, diploma, degree or certification considered an asset
  • Other combinations of education, training and experience will be considered
  • Training and experience in incident command systems, ER Planning, response to oil spills on both land and water
  • Strong communication/presentation, project management skills required
  • Technical writing skills
  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Understanding of applicable emergency response regulations and related standards within Canada and the US
  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills in executing routine duties and during times of crisis
  • Exceptional organizational, planning, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven ability to innovate, influence change and deliver results
  • Salary and job level will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
